The Find.ly API is plain JSON over HTTPS. There is no official SDK or client package: any HTTP client works, and every example in this tab calls the real endpoints directly with the language’s usual HTTP library.

cURL

One-liners for the terminal and shell scripts.

Python

With requests: a small helper, then every module.

JavaScript

Node.js 18 or newer, with the built-in fetch.

Go

Standard library only: net/http and encoding/json.

PHP

The curl extension and json_decode.

What every example assumes

  • Your key is in an environment variable, FINDLY_API_KEY. Copy it from Dashboard → API. Keep it out of your source code.
  • Server-side only. The API sends no CORS headers, so a browser cannot read its responses. Run these examples from a terminal, a script or your backend, never from a web page.
  • A client timeout of 60 seconds. An IntelX search can take up to 30 seconds before Find.ly gives up on it (20 for Breach Search). A shorter client timeout can give up on a search that is then billed.
  • Errors are JSON, even with ?format=txt or on Stealer Export. Check the status code before you read or save the body, and branch on error.code.

What each example covers

Request bodies, response fields and limits for each module are in Modules and inputs and in the API Reference.
